Welcome to Hurt, Virginia – “Small Town… Big Ideas”

Happy Birthday and Anniversary from Richmond!

Below:  State Senator Frank Ruff (l) and Delegate Les Adams (r) present Mayor Gary Poindexter with a resolution from the General Assembly commending the Town of Hurt for its heritage and accomplishments over the last 50 years, and its forward-moving aspirations for the next.  The resolution, which was presented during our Community Anniversary Reception on April 2, will be displayed at Town Hall.

A Note Of Thanks!

Approximately 150 people turned out for our Community Anniversary Reception.  This made for a pleasant afternoon of community fellowship, and was the first in a series of planned events to commemorate Hurt’s Golden Anniversary.  We extend sincere thanks to all who attended, participated, prepared, or otherwise took part in making our first Semicentennial event a success.  We look forward to seeing you as we continue celebrating our first fifty years and set a course for the next.

Please visit our  Semicentennial Page  periodically for updates throughout the year.
